DOMOPTI tra i vincitori della Call4Innovation NEST “Boosting the Energy Transition”
Selected among more than 220 international applications
Domopti, a spin-off of the Politecnico di Milano, has been selected as one of the seven winning startups of the Call4Innovation “Boosting the Energy Transition,” promoted by the NEST Foundation – Network for Energy Sustainable Transition.
The initiative attracted over 220 applications from around the world, all undergoing a rigorous technical assessment followed by evaluation from an Innovation Board comprising representatives of leading industrial players, including Veolia, Italgas, Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Snam, Duferco and Eurac Research.
This achievement represents an important acknowledgement of the innovative potential of Domopti’s solutions for intelligent energy management.

From academic research to industrial validation
Following its selection in the Call4Innovation, Domopti will develop a funded industrial Proof of Concept (PoC) to test and validate its technology in a real‑world operational environment.
The program includes dedicated technology‑alignment activities with industrial partners, along with financial support of up to €50,000 for each PoC.
The spin‑off originated from the collaboration between the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Milano Sonia Leva, Giampaolo Manzolini and Emanuele Martelli - and two alumni actively involved in research projects: Davide Zanatta (Politecnico di Milano) and Paolo Ceriani (Bocconi University). The team combines cutting‑edge scientific expertise with strong managerial competencies, with the shared objective of translating academic results into effective, scalable and measurable industrial solutions.

Advanced model‑based and AI‑enabled energy management technologies
- Domopti designs intelligent energy management solutions that integrate advanced energy modelling techniques with artificial intelligence algorithms for forecasting, monitoring and optimizing energy consumption and flows.
The participation in the NEST program will allow these technologies to be validated directly on the field, demonstrating Domopti’s ability to enable real‑time decision‑making and automated control strategies. This validation process will contribute to the widespread adoption of more efficient and sustainable energy‑management approaches.Being selected among the winners of the NEST Call4Innovation marks a significant milestone for Domopti and a concrete step toward the large‑scale deployment of advanced solutions for the energy transition. The collaboration between academia, industry and emerging talent reinforces the robustness of Domopti’s development model and opens the door to new opportunities for experimentation, validation and growth.
