OPTIM-ON has been integrated into the Power Island product line developed by Avoni Industrial SRL, a company headquartered in Calderara di Reno (Bologna) with more than seventy-five years of experience in the industrial engines and power generation sector. Power Island was designed as a self-contained, mobile, intelligent, and sustainable energy hub, capable of delivering reliable and flexible electricity generation across a wide range of operational contexts.
Power Island is a modular system housed in standard 20- or 40-foot containers, integrating photovoltaic panels, battery storage systems, and a generator compatible with HVO biofuel. The solution is designed to operate in both on-grid and off-grid modes, making it particularly well suited for remote locations, emergency backup applications, and mobile charging stations.
The integration of OPTIM-ON is the result of a strategic partnership between Avoni Industrial SRL and DOMOPTI, which enabled the deployment of our software platform. OPTIM-ON acts as the intelligent core of Power Island’s energy management system. The platform communicates with the installed devices, acquiring real-time operational states of individual components as well as end-user energy demand data. This information is processed through artificial intelligence algorithms to predict photovoltaic generation profiles and expected electrical loads, enabling energy production to be optimised by minimising overall system costs. The resulting optimal operating set-points are then transmitted to Power Island’s devices for execution.
This architecture allows Power Island to dynamically and predictively manage multiple available energy sources based on real-time demand, consistently prioritising the use of renewable energy while ensuring maximum economic and operational efficiency. Thanks to the integration of OPTIM-ON, overall energy management efficiency is increased by up to 30%, leading to a proportional reduction in CO₂ emissions associated with fuel-based generator usage (in a fully off-grid configuration).
